Now that this was mentioned, this very thing happened to me awhile back. The stereo sounded like it was coming in and out. The problem was the two iPod connections were not connected properly. Once I did this, problem solved.

Could someone share their experience on How their X5 handles in the beach?. May be with pictures "stuck" in soft sand. I am thinking to take my x5 to brigantine beach in NJ next month. Would I get stuck??. Will Bmw road side assist save me??. Any comments deeply appreciated.

we did just fine on the beach - both in the very soft sand and the harder sand at the edge of the water. we didn't, however, take it up any dunes - most of our driving was pretty flat.

I highly doubt BMW assist would help you out if you got stuck in a sand dune. I'm guessing they don't help with "off-road" situations.
