For those with lowered suspension
I am wondering how you guys lower your X5 rear suspension with auto leveling system.
I purchased my H&R Springs for my X5 with self-leveling system, therefore I received only two springs for the front. I lowered my rear using BMW computer in the dealer but it keeps going back up when I restart the engine. I just couldn't save the configuration in the computer. If any of you have already lowered the car, please give me some feedback. cheers

I vaguely recall seeing this process described by someone in a thread here once - something about modifying the mounting or operation of the component that does the level-check to 'trick' it into treating a different value as normal. Might find it with a search.

Deetz check with Harold. Look for his name in the threads. He has the same set-up and did the trick.

thank you guys. I noticed that as soon as I posted this thread.
I will keep you updated, my first dealership couldn't do the trick but my performance shop here definitely knows what he is doing. I will bring it in tomorrow morning and we'll go from there. Btw just for your information for those who want to lower your X5 with self-leveling suspension. H&R and Eibach make for Hartge, ACS and Hamann. I don't know which one goes to which company but to cut it short, next time you grab these springs, make sure you get them from either hartge, acs or hamann if you do not know how to trick the link to the bmw computer from your suspension. Because these tuners give you what you need while H&R and Eibach don't Cheers! thanks again for your help |

No prob. I am over here in Germany in the Air Force and purchased a White X5 3.0si. I just put on the arch extensions, 214's chromed, H&R springs and awaiting the painted kit now for installation (should be here on thurs). I HATE being over here for installation as the Euro is killing me. Springs were $610 just to install! Found a guy to put the kit on for 90 euro....BUT he has to "see" it first. Probably raped me a couple of more euro. Oh well, I will retire in 10 months this will be all over!

Hi all,
I'm running into the same problem here in Hong Kong as I just purschased a X5 3.0 and front H&R lowering springs. Neither does the BMW dealer nor the aftermarket tuner has any idea how to lower the back. Car looks ugly now with the front much lower than the rear So is it just a computer setting? Thanks! Kev |
