I stand corrected. the A/C was not on "auto" mode. I just checked. I was hoping it was, then it would've solved the problem, as it said it would on the manual.
I'm starting to think that this might be a lemon ![]() |

I don't know how far the dealer is from you but it might be prudent to go
and spend some time asking questions about your concerns. I made a list when i first got my X, went back to the dealer and worked thru the kinks. It's a sit down show me kind of thing that solves most of these issues when we are not use to how a new vehicle responds. Just my .2cents |

Yup, that's what I plan to do ASAP. Actually the sales guy wanted to teach me some of the controls and stuff when I got the vehicle, but it was late at night, so I said later.
I just spent hour and a half fiddling with iDrive and climate control setting. And no matter what I do, A/C turns on automatically when I start the ignition. Wow.. talk about annoyance. |

A/C comes on at startup each and every time (unless the truck was turned off in the past 30 mins or so). this is very annoying and is suppoed to be fixed via s/w upgrade but nobody on the forum has confirmed this (I believe). X5 is only model with this problem from my recollections ... BMW fix this!

It's not so much the A/C is it? I know the fan comes on every time... so if your A/C was on then it may continue it. But if you're A/C was off, it will start with the fan on but A/C off. Posted about this fan annoyance in a thread a few months back.

THANK YOU! No wonder I could never get it turned off... and I spent so much time on it.
I cannot believe BMW hasn't got a software upgrade that corrects this problem. Do they think this is supposed to be normal? I just don't get it. If I want it off, it should stay off, instead of starting it every ignition. Just don't get their logic behind this. I wiill search for the thread related to this topic. |
