Question. Are the side mirrors supposed to fold in when I lock up the vehicle? 'Cause mine doesn't. And it's kind of annoying to manually fold it in everytime I park or fold it out everytime I drive away.

There is a button you have to press (the small circle looking one) just beside the mirror adjusment ones. Not sure if thats what your asking but I dont know of any BMW's that does it once you lock or unlock door.

OK, I see. Thanks.
One more question. When I first got in the vehicle, the car's steering wheel automatically came forward and down when I start the ignition. That was once before I officially purchased the vehicle. But now, the car doesn't do that anymore. The steering wheel stays the way it is, rather than moving toward me and down. I liked that feature; felt like being in some kind of an advanced futuristic cockpit or something. Something to do with setting with the iDrive? 'Cause I don't see any setting that controls the steering wheel's movement. BTW, just love the look of the vehicle!! ![]() |

Maybe the new setting you have is similar to the default setting of where the steering wheel is, try changing the steering wheel to an extreme position (also make sure you have saved the settings at the seats, press M then see it light up then press 1 or 2) |

This might be related to fuel gauge problem I'm having.
You know when the ignition's off all the needles point to zero right? My fuel consumption gauge reads exactly where the lowest fuel consumption point is painted, but the fuel gauge goes past below zero. Does anyone else's X5 do this? |

I'd appreciate it if anyone could confirm this on their fuel gauge with ignition off. Thanks.

And why does the A/C start every time I start the car? I remember turning it off before locking it up.

Hey autoque;
Just curious; How much time have you spent reading the manual for your vehicle?

I started reading it before I got the vehicle. I'd say about 2 hours in total. I thought about it, and A/C is on the auto. So that explains that.
But it still doesn't explain why I'm hearing this little beep sound from the back about every 10 seconds, whether the ignition is on or off, or locked. Also the motion sensor which I understand is standard isn't working on my vehicle even when it's locked. And no I don't have comfort access. I'm doing my best to understand these, but it's not that easy for me. |
