My impression is that it was not fair... If I am off I would appreciate the feed back, this is one the main values and functions of these forums. They give you a neutral and unbiased sounding board.

For some reason there is a big variance between what Edmunds says and KBB. The trade on my X5 on Edmunds (which I've never looked at until now) shows $15K and KBB says $12K. And NADA is showing $16.5K. The dealer is probably using the KBB value when they are quoting you and that's why you are thinking they are low-balling you. I'm sure most dealers go by KBB. Again, I don't know why there is a big variance between them.

By the way, I hope those who are against the X6/FX and SAC's in general start understanding why they have a strong following. Some of us view them as sport cars we could fit in

On a semi-related note, the X6 sunroof is pretty weak compared to the X5 panoroof... most likely due to the sloped rear half.

Great and very interesting answers.
Never heard of ready-to-come "urea plans" back here.

I re-did the trade evaluation today and I think you are right:
- KBB 19,800
- Edmunds 20,950 (went down 1000 IN less than past three weeks)
- NADA 25,000

Seems like the dealer was not far off when they quoted me 19,000 if they were using KBB.

So far from what I have heard most of the changes to X5 will be happening in early spring 2009, when it also gets new iDrive & infotainment, hard drive based nav, ConnectedDrive etc,
