I-drive knob resistance at end of menu-option

Yes, I finally got my X5, after waiting for a year (won't bother you with that..)

My question is about the I-drive knob and how it operates.
In all demo's I have been in (also non-X5) the I-drive knob had this perfect way of telling you that you are at the end of a menu-option, by giving you almost physical resistance.
This is of course programmed somehow, but it works quite well and is intuative.

I was extermely surprised to find out that in my E70, this "feature" was not there. It's either broken on my X5, or it has been changed with the
latest V27 software...

Does anyone have a clue?
Can anyone with V27 and above confirm that they still have the I-Drive knob featuring the phisical resistance?
It would then mean that mine is broken somehow.

Any feedback appreciated.

I think the feedback was disabled with the latest software updates (true for many other BMWs I think). But I may be wrong.........

Yes, I guess we can call the feature "feedback", maybe even "Force Feedback" like we know it from joysticks.
I'd really like to know if others have found it to be gone from the latest software updates and whether they see it as improvement.
I always thought this was kinda supercool and can't think of a reason why BMW would remove this.

I agree, hoping that someone with > V27 software can confirm that it still works, then I can take my car in to have it fixed :-)

I was playing early today with one in the dealer's showroom - it has the force feedback... Dont know what software ver it had, but it was not the latest car on the floor neither...

I sorta liked this feature... Too bad if it is disabled on my X5 when it is delivered.

My 2008 has no "feedback" type limit at the end of the menus.
