The way that I'm looking at it is that if I need a more powerful amp, I'll add one later.

Okay, I managed to talk the sales guy down to $1500 for the premium sound, which is $140 below invoice... does that it make it worth it... or still not? Thanks!

If it's worth it to you yes. Personally, I wouldn't pay $1,000 for it That's a lot of money for a few extra speakers and a few hundred extra watts.

I agree. I just think we don't know for sure if there's going to more to this Premium Sound Package or not though. BMW dealers do not know yet. If I order my 4.8i tomorrow, I won't be including this package...

It's unlikely the in Dash DVD player will work on the front screen (in US cars, anyway), and since the rear entertainment system is hardly linked in anyway to the front system, it's probable it will not play on the rear screen anyway.

I would get it for 2 reasons: 1) Nice when you have your hands full of grocery bags, and don't want to set them down on the ground in order to open the hatch 2) This has happened to me many times on my E53, I pop the hatch from the inside, exit the drivers door and shut it, the hatch then "re-locks" due to internal pressure.

I think it's a great feature for the $500 price.

And it will probably introduce new "bugs" into the E70 just after they have fixed the "07" ones.. Soft close doors will also be a classic issue for the new model...It seems they have taken a long time to "get it right" so hopefully it works flawlessly..
