newbs first post...

Hi all,
This is my first post and I just want to thank all of you who have made postings/articles on this site. It’s incredible! I bought my black 2001 x5 3.0i a couple of months ago (long awaited self bday gift) and I can’t tell you how many of the postings have helped me. Just a quick recap of what i’ve done based on the helpful info on this site:
- Full tranny flush – 3 flushes with a filter and gasket replacement on the 3rd (original ‘lifetime’ oil was black!)...
- Cleared SES light – uh... several times.
- Reset service interval light (after the tuneup etc was done - holy easy!)
- Removed door panel and replaced window reg...
- Tuneup (oils, spark plugs, etc)
- Upgraded to K&N filter
- Replaced microfilter (put a carbon one in)
- Repaired rear brake light. Uh... and then repaired the other one.
Ok – so as you can see there was a bit of work needed – got the vehicle for a steal and now that it’s ‘renewed’ I love it! It was a dream vehicle for me, so I couldn’t be happier.
I plan to post some questions in a bit – there are a few, so I’m sure I’ll be chatting with a few of you soon enough...
Cheers,

a.

Hi dib,
Welcome to what's probably one of the best (if not the best) web sites one can go to with queries if you own an X5. Sounds like you've been busy.
A picture (or photo's) paint a thousand words, show us your new ride.......
Good luck.
