OK, so here it is...

i have an 03 3.0 with 91,000 miles.

since saturday i've been noticing the car is sounding and running a little bit different. i purchased the car with 34,000 so i think i have a good handle on the normal driving sounds plus all the quirks that goes along with driving an X.

i did a search earlier today on transmission problems/slipping but i am not sure if that is indeed my problem. well, let's just say i hope not.

it jerks from time to time and i notice this during take off. i guess i wanted to come to the "experts" first before i call the dealer. because truth be told what am i going to say: "it's just not running the same. i know my car!"

sorry for not being more direct with my issue. i just know it's driving different but have no clue what's the cause or how to explain to the dealer.

no lights have come on yet to indicate a problem so i may be acting a bit presumptious. it could just be my paranoia due to the mileage. ( i never had a car with miles this high before. i guess it goes to show how much i really do enjoy my X).

what do you guys think? am i acting paranoid (maybe i shouldn't ask a bunch of guys that! )since the car's computer hasn't indicated anything and all my levels seem to be where they should be

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Even if no lights are lit up, there still can be codes stored in your DME. Go to AutoZone and have codes pulled, and then post the codes here.

blackbeauty... I think you're referring to the herky jerkyness at first within the first 10 minutes or so? Then it goes away and drives like normal? Alot of our X's do that and the dealer will have trouble replicating the problem. My guess is the programing of the transmission. But that might not really change anything. This issue has been gone over many times with no real solid solutions. All I know is mine has been doing the same thing and I've pulled my codes multiple times and none of them relate to the issue.

You're probably right, the tranny is most likely not slipping. You would definitely notice that and it would be much more agressive and missing gears..Plus you'd probably get the dreaded "trans fail safe" error on your dash at some point.
