To find the faulty one, turn on the ignition so the pdc is active then listen to each sensor you should here a ticking on the good ones and the bad one will be silent (you need to be in a quiet place) you can get the sensors out from the front, there 3 clips behind the head of the sensor which can be depressed to squeeze through the hole in the bumper, they may need bending back into shape before you replace the sensor. hope it helps

The sensor I have should work for you, the 2 basic designs are with the plug connection pointing straight back, and with the plug connection at a 90 degree pointing to the side. The one I have is pointing straight back. The new price is about $50-$60 so I'm thinking about $20 should cover it. I will plug it into my truck and make extra sure it still works properly also.
Just make sure you have the kind with the plug aimed straight back, otherwise you wouldn't have the clearance.

thank you , let me know how to pay, but today I check the sensors for that "noise" they make , but they all made it, I checked twice, so this mean they are all good? so what will be the problem?

Well then the one I have would work for you, but only if thats the problem. The system used a different "gong" for front vs rear, the long warning beep you get before it stops... is it front tone or back tone? That might help you figure it out... Otherwise check or money order would work, but take extra time through mail. I'd might be able to set up a link to my paypal... which if I'm thinking right can accept paypal or credit/debit cards. I'll look into it.

Is a long tone that I hear at front , but the sensor at front and back are working, so what is the issue, do you have paypal? if not need your address and I will send you $, thanks

well the only way to know for sure what the problem is would be to have the faults read/evaluated by either the dealer or the GT1 tester. The PDC control module does have built in diagnostic capabilities that will give you a fault code and description, even a "test plan"... but unfortuneately can only be read with the BMW tester equipment.
And I do have paypal, just never received money through it... only used it for purchasing so far. It looks like I can send a money request to your email address with it pretty easily though. |
