Shocks question!!!
I have an '01 3.0 X5 w/ sport package and rear air suspension. I need to replace the front shocks, and maybe HR springs kit that will work with rear air suspension X5. Should I go with aftermarket shocks like Bilstein or go with OEM shocks? Thanks.

I spoke to MrBMW and he does not have rear air suspension so it was straight forward for him to go with Bilstein shocks front + rear.
I just talked to BavAuto today and they suggested that I should go with OEM shocks, especially with sport package option. I am just exploring my option before I make the decision of what I should buy. I don't know if it will a problem if I replace the front shocks with Bilstein shocks in combination with the rear air suspension. |

If you lower your front with shorter springs, you may as well lower your rear using adjustable endlinks or have your control unit reprogrammed at a $tealer.

This may be a stupid question, but if you have rear air suspension only, does it also have shocks in addition to the air bladders in the rear suspension? I'm looking to lower my 04 4.4 (no sport pkg).
