can't decide, running boards or not?

I have an Black 3.0 X5 with the OEM sport wheels and have been pondering whether or not to put the OEM aluminum running boards on my X.

I can't decide whether or not it is worth it to put the boards on my car with my current wheels. What I really want is 20" style 87's, but I just bought new tires less than two months ago, so I am thinking it isn't worth it to buy a whole new set of wheels, tires, then the boards right now since I have new tires.

What do you guys think? Would the boards look good with my current wheels? Is it worth it? Pic is below. Thanks!

I say get the RB's! ... because later (when you need tires again) you can get the staggered 20's you want. BTW nice lookin' X - those black kidneys look great.

how much does OEM RBs weight total? Considering the price of gas these days, people seem to find ways to keep their vehicle light as much as possible. They always seem to look nice but when i see one in person and see how it sticks out, i got a little hesitant to get one. But its just my opinion...

i agree with the clear headlights, but the ones I have dont bug me that much. And don't I already have the black kidney grille? or do you mean to black out the area around it.

About the weight, I'm not sure, maybe someone else will chime in. I know it costs $90 to ship them cross country, so I wouldn't think it would be TOO heavy, but you never know.

Cool

How much gas will you conserve by not installing RB's?

If you decide to get the aluminum RBs, buy them for LOOKS... I rarely if ever use mine... very impractical to step on... much easier to step directly into the truck.

My wife uses the one on her side though... I know because I have to clean it too often.
