SERVICE ENGINE but NO codes ...help!

How are you gouys doing today? I have a 2000 4.4i, I've had the SES light for a while, however, when we put the code reader, it's clean, there are no error codes, when we try to clear it, nothing happens....any ideas ?

i have the same issue from what i understand it is a sensor.

I've had this happen on my e46. I think an oxygen sensor read something high and it went away and the computer cleared it's self. I performed a fuel injection cleaning and haven't seen it since.

Thanks for the info, did you just use a fuel injector cleaner?

Yes, I used a bottle of "seafoam" from O'reilly's or autozone and put half the bottle into the vacuum system and the other half into the gas tank.
For the vacuum line I used the hose from the brake booster, close and easy to get to. With the hose slightly on the tip of the booster start the engine and have a helper rev it to about 3000 rpms and then steadily pour half the bottle into the vacuum line, maintaining the rpms. It will and should smoke like a M.F. (note: the SES may come on during this process, don't panic.) When the smoke starts to lessen put the hose back on the booster and pour the rest into the tank. Turn off the engine , wait a few minutes and restart. The SES light (if on during process) should be off.
Be sure to use high octane gas and hopefully you won't have anymore issues.

This process worked for me on my e46.
