Rough downshifts...

Here's SIB 2420205 for harsh downshift for '04 and '05 X5 - replaced SIB 240106.
(won't work for a '00 - but SIB does exist)

Are you sure on the new SIB? I thought BMW SIB's were 6 digit, not 7, in length.

Similar SIB was issued for E90's etc. - SIB 24 04 06

- I think this is for '04+ the facelifted X

SIB 24 04 06 was not for the E90's. It was for some E46, E39, and E85 models and it had nothing to do with harsh 2-1 downshifts.

Will this work for a 2002 4.6i X5 as well?

Where did you get this? Do you have any BMW reference for it? (i.e. TIS, SIB, etc.)

I found this information on page 1 of this trend. So, can this be done for an 02 4.6i X5is?

I have this problem still even after trying the transmission reset and the dealer reflashing. I am going to be taking it back soon and see if I can take someone for a ride and show them how to replicate the problem. I will also print out the information on the TSB#.
