New Lowering kit from Bav Auto

Hey guys, I do not work for Bav Auto but I am a huge supporter and go to their showroom about once a month. Just got their new catalog and saw this!

Finally, a way to lower BMWs that have rear air suspensions! If you've always wanted to lower your X5 with air rear suspension, now you can. This kit includes a pair of lowering springs for the front and a pair of adjustable end links for the rear. These end links slightly modify the suspension geometry, which causes the self leveling system to believe that your BMW's rear end is riding to high, so it lets some air out of the suspension and voila!-the rear of the car is lowered to match the front. Please note: Only for vehicles with rear air suspension

Part Number Description Price Qty. SK SLKIT X5 Air Suspension Lowering Kit
$409.95

Sounds like a fair price! Looks good too. The pictures of the X that is lowered in their mag look mean!

WOW! Very cool man! My suspension is next! I'm thinking KW coilovers???? we'll see!

Yeah !!! B&B.....I was going down that path for a while and almost pulled the trigger with BAV for a B&B...I ended up going with the SuperSprint! .......but you will like the B&B.........be sure to get the Xpipe done also........that combo is bad ass.........your X will sound like Thunder with that specific combo!! Make sure to post Pics and a sound clip! !

Thnx RichiRich I had a B&B on my E30 M3 and loved it...I will definitely post a vid clip with sound once its installed next week...BTW I did remove the resonators but opted for the straight pipes instead of the x pipe for the time being because no welding was involved with the install of the straight pipes it was a quick and easy mod. The BavAuto suspension kit won't be delivered until mid July they said its back ordered but I will post pics after that install as well.

Can someone please post pics of X5 4.4 with 19inch OEM wheels with this kit installed? I'd sure love to lower my '05 X5 4.4 sports which has only rear air suspension. By the way, any known side effects of this lowering technique (translate "Self-lowering suspension inactive error"?

Thanks!

From what I understand there shouldn't be an error with the rear end links they are adjustable and just change the geometry of the rear tricking the computer into thinking that your X is riding too high which then lets some air out of the rear bags...any way that's how they are supposed to work from what I have read.

This may sound like a dumb question, but how do know if you have rear air suspension? I have a 2001 3.0.

I think the easiest way to tell is to lift your or slide out your trunk floor which covers the spare tire and look to the right and left sidesup near the front of the wheel wells you should see a red air canister on each side.
