Vredestein Ultrac SUV Sessanta on 20's

So there is little info about the tires. The search did bring up some stuff...But I did not see many pics or many reviews. I think allot of people are scared of the bicycle tire company. I decided to give them a whirl. I figured I would add a few pics and when I get some miles on them, I will give a review. Now on to the pics

I think they look fantastic. I picked them up from Bones, nice people and great on the phone to work with.

I love they way they look and they have good reviews.
But with a 280 tread rating they wont last long. I had nitto 555s with a 300 tread rating any they barely lasted 15,000miles

I did look at that. the 280 is very cool with me.

This typical spec is what I have been running for a few years. I guess, I am use to having a tire wear quick, but I would much rather have the grip.

BTW, the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD and many many others have similar or less. Check out the Nitto 555R's or the Falken Azenis RT-615 ,as I run them on other cars. You can not get everything, it is trade-off. At the price of (OEM) you can but 1.5 sets of these.

Ok all. I was able to get them mounted this weekend. I had the OEM Michelin tires on and the X5 has about 31K on the stockers. Tread was ~50%. I replaced the tires due to a cut in one of the sidewalls from shipping. The Dealer I got it from said "I'll pay for a new tire".. so why stop at 1, anyway

Right off the bat there are two HUGE improvements over the Michelin's.

One was sound. These new Vredestein's are QUIET. No really quiet, like Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD quiet.

Two was traction. There is a TON more stick than the Michelin's. Turn in is much faster and high speed corners are defiantly much smoother.

Thanks all. So far so good. I do notice they get even stickier after a 30 mile drive. I have been heat cycling and slowly pushing them a little harder. I'm at the point now I need to get out in the twisty mountains to really see what these can do.

Will update after a few thousand miles.

i have these tires on my 4.4. they are sick. better than the diamaris that came with the wheel and MUCH better than the toyos they replaced.
