TR pros: 3.0/4.4 vs 4.8 tire sizing

I have looked at 20 inch wheels (Daytona Race and AR1) on the site with optional rear wheels. 3.0/4.4 always gave me tire sizes of 295/40 all around while the 4.8 gave me 275/40 f and 315/35 r. They are the same wheel with the same offset. Is it not reccomended that the 3.0 and 4.4 be staggered? I know some guys have 3.0/4.4 with staggered set ups. Which set up is better? Thanks.

The "non staggered" set up is more economical as you can rotate tires for a little better durability. Many (most ?) have found the 315's to wear quickly on the insides due to camber issues, and the rears often need to be replaced freqently.

I have a set of staggered wheels on my 4.4i and I love them. It originally came with the 19" sport wheels which were great, but the 20" staggared setup just gave it a more aggressive look! I've had my wheels on for some time, and I havn't seen any form of wear on the inner portion as of yet. I say go with the Staggered look, you'll love it!!!

I love the staggered look but at the same time I don't want to be switching tires often. I'm not sure which to pick yet but I have a better understanding now. Thanks for your replies.

i just checked tirerack and their stock sizes for a 4.4 (2004 e53) with sport package is f 255/50-19 r 285/45-19. You must be referring to non-sport packaged x5's.
