Moving LUMBAR location for taller drivers

For taller drivers (those over 6 foot) you may find the lumbar feature only usefull to support the very lowest portion of your back. Being in that category, I always used the upper air bladder exclusively (depress the lumber switch up to inflate only the upper bladder). You can improve the usefullness by relocating the bladder pad higher in the seat...

Note: these instructions are for Standard or Sport seats, they may be different for Comfort seats!

1. Remove 2 plastic plugs from bottom of seat back (a trim removed tool and some time of wedge is usefull as these plugs are much longer than necessary)
2. Pull seat back down 2 inches, then pull back for removal
3. Depress 4 flaps from top of lumbar pad for removal from the horizonatal wire (gloves are good as the metal edges are sharp)
4. Pull lumbar pad up 1 inch and resecure 4 flaps over new horizontal wire
5. Reinstall seat back and slide up (make sure 2 plastic tabs slide into seat leather on both sides)
6. Press plastic plugs back into place (new ones would be nice and they are only $0.26 for 52-20-1-964-201??)
Enjoy using both air bladders!

Thank you Bimmerboard for hosting the pics...
