Brakes padsand new rotors Break-In Procedure.

Dear installers;

After the installation,do'nt go out and immediately try to get in some
100-0-mph tests.
The pads and rotors need to go through a mandatory break -in procedure.
First, you'll have to find a safe and legal area that has enough room to do through a series of braking that you're about to do.You'llhave to drive and brake gently until the surface plating is worn off the rotors.The second part of the break - in requires several deceleration from 60 mph to 10 mph ,using moderate braking pressure.It is absolutely crucial that you never come to complete stop,as this will cause the rotor to vibrate in the future.Afterabout ten decelerations, the break -in procedure is complete.
Don't get too excited yet,as the brakes won't at their optimum performance level until the brakes have been heated up and cooled down a couple more time.

From a speed of about 60mph, gently apply the brakes to slow the car down to about 40mph,and then accelerate back to 60mph.Do this about four to five times to bring the brakes up to operation temperture.This prevents you from thermally shocking the rotors and pads in the next steps.
Make a series of eight near -stops from 60mph to about 10mph.Do it HARD by pressing on the brakes firmly,just shy of locking the wheels or engaging ABS,At the end of each slow down,immediately accelerate back to 60pmh.
DO NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP! ( Note: With less aggressive street pads and /or stock brake calipers,you may need to do this fewer times.
If your pedal gets soft or you feel the brakes going away,then you've done enough.Procedure to next step.)

Depending on the pads you are using,the brakes may being to fade slightly after the 7th or 8th near - stop. This fade will completely go away untill the brakes have fully cooled.A bad smell from brakes,and even some smoke,is normal.

If you experience vibration and pulsation after the installation,do not panic.It take 150-200 miles for the zinc to be completely wash off the rotors surface.Once the zinc is completely wash of,the vibration and pulsation will disappear.

enjoin your need brakes and rotors.
happy motoring.
