Nav problems

My 03 X5 with 16:9 NAV started acting up today. Any address that I input it seems to be unable to give me any direction or location on where I am. Even when driving on major HWY's the location icon jumps around from street to street.

Any ideas?

It is MKIV SW 4-1/50...unless the antenna can come loose on it's own or during my recent brake it should be plugged in.

Your antenna is either unplugged, or has failled. Replace the GPS antenna

And treat yourself by upgrading the software from 4-1/50 to 4-1/100

KingCon, Sorry I am in midtown. Brian is near Norcross and Imolatony may be out your way. Ask on bimmerboard.com e38 board or nav board for them if you end up needing help out that way or they may know someone nearer to you. Kiwi gives good advice.

Thanks, just seems one little thing after another. I have some people interested in buying it so I need to take care of these little problems asap.

By chance would this affect my MPG? I seem to be around a steady 19MPG, even in the city.

KingCon - as Jochen states, for some reason your nav unit is not receiving a signal, this can be seen by the lack of any values in the S/N (Signal to Noise ratio) columns. Unbolt the nav unit and check the antenna lead and connection, or use a dentist style mirror to look behind it.

This fault would not cause an error in your mpg function.
