Hi,i'm no further ahead with my problem.Waiting for a friend with a similar car with to "donate" it to me for a day!, so i can check my wiring/connections against his.Keep you all posted.
Any other info appreciated.

Got myself a second hand amp from a salvage company and sound is back!
Original amp was a LEAR, the one I bought for euro 85,- is a LOEWE, a bit older but nevertheless performing good.
The major male connector on the original amp showed some occidation between some connectorpins and caused probably the fall out of it.
