What kind of media are you using? You can't use a CD-RW. Use a high quality CD-R for best results.

Question

I used a CD-R - it made by Maxell, and as far as I know it is good quality. Is there a particular brand that is best to use? I purposely avoided using the ones made for music.

First, thank you very much for the upgrade! It worked like a charm.

Second (and pardon my ignorance) - can you help me understand how I can change the language? Currently under "Settings", the only language I get are US English, French and Spanish. Some of the other members have mentioned that this new upgrade has other languages (specially UK English), and I was wondering if you can help me switch to that.

Thanks
J

The nav OS disc has 7 languages: GB, DE, FR, IT, ES, NL, US

Use NavCoder to change (Google:Navcoder)

I personally use Maxell CD-R's burnt at 1 x speed using Alcohol 120% & rarely have coasters.

See http://www.x5world.com/navigation-sy...menu-text.html.

KrisL, if you're listening, please give us a new version :-)

I'm listening. Stay tuned.

i had to burn mine in 1x with IMGBURN. the first time i did it, it was at auto (whatever max speed it was set to) and my nav unit basically gave me a big middle finger.

i reburned it at 1x and it worked like a charm. i did notice the boot up being a bit quicker. going to try some roads in a few weeks to see how it might change the way things are.

I'm goin to DL 29.1 later today and get started making the changes with NavTweak. I successfully changed the Perspective mode horizon banner as well as the "Legal Screen" text when i upgraded to V28. So I'm good to go there. I'm on a US system so.... its uses US English.

I was wondering if there is a way to have the navigation voice with a British accent. This may be covered somewhere else. If so... poin me in the direction please

Also... what are the specs for a splash screen picture? i want to put a pic of my car on there but don't know the requirements

You simply export the british module/rename/import it in the US voice module, then you have to change the CRC at the end with CRC24.exe and a hex editor..
