You Guys Rock!!!

Freakin Fantastic. I just upgraded my GPS to software version 29.1 from 20, what a huge difference. HUGE!!

The graphics are smoothed out and look somewhat 3D...

Your directions were perfect, took only 5 minutes. Prespective view is awesome.

Today on my way to work I hid the POI icons and now the option to put them back is greyed out*!$#^$%$ -

Does anyone know how to fix this?
Also, what is Camera Display?

Thanks,

Doug

Now my challenge is to get my Range Rover updated. It has an MK3 in it and shows SW version 3-1/32, which interestingly enough does not show up on any of the update charts that I have seen. It also has a male Brittish voice, so perhaps this was a "grey" unit from the UK?

In any event, anyone know how to get the MK3 to update? I have tried V22.1 and 29.1, and all I get is "Incorrect CD" on the screen. Could this be because it is a Rover (even though it has a BMW Nav unit)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Correct. The 3-1/32 does not show up on any of the British (BMW) updates. There was a 3-1/31 (V17.1) and a 3-1/40 (V18) but your version appears to be unique - probably to Land Rover only. I stand to be corrected, but having been heavily involved with BMW Map DVD's & the CD based OS's since 2005 I have NEVER come across a 3-1/32 version!!! - But that is not to say that Land Rover did not have their own unique software - they do. You must go to a Land/Range Rover forum as I DO know that the Land/Range Rover SatNav OS software is completely different to BMWs (as is the Mini's & Rolls Royce...) - despite using the same MkIII CD & MkIV DVD players.

The reason is quite simple: The Land Rover SatNav OS has all sorts of different algorithms to a road car, aimed at the off-road capabilities, such as height above sea level, angle the vehicle is tilted at etc etc........ The V27/27.1/28/29.1 OS will not load properly because it is not designed for off-road use!.....

Just go in and search for another POI, you don't have to select it, just search for it.

The 'Hide POI Icons' option does just that, it does not re-enable the previously selected POI, which it could do you'd have thought.

So maybe we X3 and X5 drivers should do the other way around and burn a land-rover firmware into our MKIV systems any interesting link to the rover forums with firmware updates? anyone willing to try?

Thanks Winkle. I have not found a site for the Land Rover updates yet, but when I do, I will let everyone here know in case there is interest.

Guys there is no point in looking for Range Rover firmware updates as they no longer exist and were stopped when BMW sold Landrover.

The last update for the RR Mk3 CD based unit was in September 2003 and that was just a few bug fixes to their equivalent V17. I have a copy of this somewhere on CD if someone wants to dig into it a bit..........The only useful feature would be to find a way to activate the off road feature but I not sure how handy that would be to 3 & 5 series owners though

As for the rest of the software, it doesn't even have the split screen option so its so out of date it might as well be windows 95!

The Range Rover forums are quite usefull for some things but not for Navigation info or hacks........you need to swap out the nav for a Mk4 and come here for that

Andy.

v29.1 Help

Hope y'all can help out a NAV Noob so here goes.

I have a 2006 X3 with the factory NAV option. I want to enable "Perspective Mode," but my current version does not allow for that. It's sw v4-1/60 (Is that v26 or v27?)

I have the v28 upgrade for sometime now, but always been too chicken to install it because from what I've read I could lose some functionality with the upgrade...such as the "Assist" feature.

Will upgrading from my current version (v4-1/60) to v29.1 have the same risk? Thanks!

BTW, my Maps disc is 2007.1

Hi there, i have a problem, i recently updated my mk4 with v29.1 and everything is working fine, yesterday a friend of mine asked me to upgrade his 530d from 2002 with v29.1, so i did!
The mk4 had the dutch menu and language, but after i upgraded his mk4, the language has changed to German, GB and French!
Is there anyway i can get this dutch language back (the menu an the spoken language)?

Regards

J.
