Something went wrong on upgrading your operating system and your navigation module is now locked and not making its presence known to the rest of the system. Thus the TV module has taken over as far as generating and managing the on-screen menu is concerned. The cause this happened could be a faulty upgrade procedure, your system CD having become corrupt during burning or having been burned in a wrong way.

To recover your nav unit you need to correctly re-load the operating system. Input from other members indicates that the modified OS (for NL language) is correct, but I am not sure if this applies only to Mk-IVs and if it was also modified for Mk-IIIs. To play it safe I would suggest you go back to the latest official version, which means V22 or higher, as for a Mk-III these are all the same. There is plenty of posting on the subject in this forum. Follow indications from KiwiJochen here: http://www.x5world.com/navigation-system/25435-navcoder-v1-2-has-been-released-7.html

Good luck

Have you read KiwiJochen instructions carefully?

You should NOT try to access the navigation system. You should NOT turn your radio on.

I assume you are able to extract any CD currently inside the nav unit and that you are able to insert a different one.

The system should automatically become aware that a system CD has been loaded into the navigation unit and should automatically start the upgrading process.

Upgrading OS is quite a simple and safe enough process, if carried out correctly, and an extremely risky process if the correct procedure is not strictly followed.

So read the instructions once and again, until you are satisfied you fully understand every step, and then follow them strictly.

Good luck.

Problem was the mode2 compatibility....changed it to the v22 now and navi works again in double view......perfect....

But I still want the dutch voice etc...

saw that the v28 nl iso is made in mode1...

Do you have a solution for changing the iso in mode 2...

Or is there another way to get dutch languagepack.

Is it even smart to go to V28....saw that for MKIII V22 till V28 is the same ROM.

Operating System discs carry several folders, some of them specific to particular navigation units series.

Modifying the disc for dutch probably means fooling the system by replacing a file with English text strings or sound data with a similar file with the corresponding sound or text translation. The system will read these files and display whatever strings or reproduce whatever sounds they may contain, assuming it is English and never knowing it is actually dutch what it is displaying or reproducing.

Now this file replacing has to be performed in the Mk-IV specific folders of the CD if you want to fool a Mk-IV system. And in the MK-III specific folders, if your target is a MK-III. Or in each and every specific folder, if you want your modified CD to be universal.

You should investigate if the modificatios of the system CD relate to Mk-III system. If that is not the case it makes no sense trying to upgrade a Mk-III with it.

Regards

For now i'll let it work as it is. Maybe if I find a better solution I'll try again.

Thanks for your help today. I really appreciate your quick replies.
