This is correct, the point "." is decimal and the "," is separator.

I was surfing http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/module...wtopic&t=35213

Can you send me your .asc or your .ov2 ?

Are you checked this coordenates = -2.17788,50.68304?

http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=50.68304,-2.17788

The coordinates are correct, this one is just outside Wareham on the A352.

If you PM me your e-mail address I can send the ASC file, but is just the latest one from Pocket GPS World.

I was going to try a couple more things :

1) reduce the size of the ASC file, maybe just to one item to see if that works.

2) copy one of the other idx and url files from the SPA folder to the ENG folder and rename it, to see if that works.

Ok you have PM.

1) if you reduce the size don't will work, you need about 30 POI min.
2) the file .idx and url of folder SPA and ENG, are the same, only have one only difference, the value of START= in the url, it is not very important

I made very much proofs, my mk4 is in english language, i worked in folder ENG and i made files url and idx, for cinemas, casinos, services rolls royce, i made this files building to hand the coordenates and was perfect all ok.

Do you have MK4 sure ?
What model of car do you have?
What version of software do you have installed?
What version of DVD road map do you use ?

Hi,

I've given this a try too, and have the same problem. The nearest MOBILE co-ordinate is showing as a little over 3000 miles from Leeds, UK.

I know the .asc file has the correct co-ordinates as the missus has the same file running fine on her TomTom navigator.

If you enter UK as the country and LEEDS as the destination city, then Information, Travel Information, Entertainment, RADARS, Search Any - where is the nearest RADAR POI?

I definitely have MKIV DVD NAV (build 2005), 2004 X5, V27 (4-1/70), EUROPE HIGH 2006-1 DVD.

Cheers

Ok i now know your problem.

your pocketgps_uk_sc.asc have a format different to asc original (converted by poiconverter).

Solution :

You must use POIConverter, you can see it in http://www.ravestation.net/bmw/poi/mkiv/index.html - Section "Pre-requisitos"
or for download POIConverter use -> http://rjdavies.users.btopenworld.com/POIConverter_setup315.zip

You can see a video how to use it -> http://www.ravestation.net/bmw/poi/mkiv/video/poiconverter.html

You must choose source "Tom Tom ASCII (*.asc)" to target "Tom Tom ASCII (*.asc)", if you open the two files, source "pocketgps_uk_sc.asc" and target "pocketgps_uk_sc_asc.asc" you can view the differences, are two spaces in latitude and longitued and one space for description.

The files .idx and .url generated are different also, it is your problem

I will translate my page to english for yours

Regards

Yep, I can also confirm it works absolutely fine!

Great work and thanks Lupito. Finally the BMW navigation has all the primary features of the leading navigation systems on the market

Now all we need is a sound proximity warning, but I can't see how that could be done without a coding change to one of the NAV OS modules.

I've put all the bits I used, except the 0079.idx and 0080.url files (because you now have to pay Pocket GPS World for the data), here : http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard.parkinson7/BMW/Speed%20Camera%20POI/

I'm going to have a look at categorizing the camera types, Gatso, Red Light, Mobile etc. You can do this with other types of POI, so why not the cameras!?

Many thanks to Lupito for making this possible!!

The sound proximity warning, need change code to software v27, perhaps ... updates to v28... we must notify this to navteq or bmw, for they developing this feature for sound the POI. (Tom Tom have it)

It is possible the categorizing, but for me it is not util, i need see ALL, if you only select category red light, only can see this icon in map, i would like see ALLS

Welcome

Regards
