Probably bug in Navtweak versions 2.6 and 2.7:

I use this http://www.x5world.com/168319-post142.html instructions to change language in navboot using navtweak.

In para 16 i replaced old language module with new module (with correct crc) using righ mouse click "replace". Then i saved NAVBOOT to a new file. After reopening new NAVBOOT all changes were lost. Sizes of old NAVBOOT and the new NAVBOOT were the same. Sizes of lang modules in navtweak before and after changes were the same. Text in "Strings" tab doesnt changed. No changes have occurred!

But i find workaround on this:

We cant use "Export" "Import" buttons in "Strings" tab to change any language to any.

I used:
Navtweak 2.6 and 2.7
gtk-2.10.11-win32-1 libs
BMW Navigation Operating System: V29.1
bmw x5 (e53) mk4

Hello all,
can you clarify me,how much times can I do this changes in the naviboot?
As I heard, it is not a unlimited resource for reinstalling software. Chip can be rewrited about 13 or 14 times.
Is it right or not?
I'm using mk4.

Thanks.

Flash memory has between 10,000 and 1,000,000 read-write cycles.

At 10,000 cyces, 1 per day = 27 years lifespan.

I doubt this will be an issue...

I think so.

I have it in the folder with nav tweak and also have installed it into the system32 directory.

I've read i think now every post on navtweak and still can't find the answer, so my question is how do i change the menu colours, colour set 1 (normally blue) using navtweak. Not sure what files or 'columns' to change.

Thanks

I had the same problem - after downloading NavTweak I run it for the first time and it started to ask me about different *.dll (mentioned by you - as well).... I found all the dlls and put all of them in system and system32 folder.... at the same time I installed GTK.... finally I received your message....

My solution: delete all libraries which I added by myself from system and system32 folders and instal GTK+ one more time - problem was solved!

Good luck!
