Wow, this looks interesting. Hmm, maybe I can make the Nov. 5 one in Silver Spring.

Might have to take a long lunch and not tell anybody!

I'm a newbie, can you tell me more about what happens at these events? I went to the link, but I'm still confused? Do you just sign up for a vehicle and tool around local roads for awhile? Do you have to be a BMW owner to sign up for as a transport volunteer?

In conjunction with the BMW Susan G. Komen Ultimate Drive, NCC has been asked to assist with transporting the entire fleet to their next location. We were only asked to handle certain Baltimore area dealerships that are participating in the UD campaign.

Please ONLY signup if you can meet all the requirements; these are NOT my rules. I realize that these locations may not be close for everyone, but we're asking all transports to showup NO LATER THAN 4:30p.

I'll need 25 transports at each location (with 1 backup driver and 5 waitlists). They'll also be a bus to take everyone back to where they started and a light meal will be provided.

You will be ASSIGNED a car when you get to the dealership and check-in (first come, first serve). Please do NOT ask for any specific model; although there will be some vehicles where you must be able to drive a stick.

Please note that preference will go to all active CCA members before non-members are assigned. Everyone will be notified of their standing approximately a week before the event.

Here's the link to register:

For the Ultimate Drive, you basically get to drive any of the BMWs along a designated route. BMW will donate $1 for every mile that you drive on your behalf to the SGK foundation. So, not only do you get to drive greats cars, you'll be helping out a great cause.

This year's fleet includes almost every car that BMW offers including the M3 and B7 (sorry, no M5 or M6). You can either register for a specific timeslot/car or just show up and hope/prey they have an opening for you to drive what you want.

As for the transports, I'm looking for CCA members who can meet the requirements and be on time!!!
