Obama is riding a cult like phenomenon which might just win him the office. Obama's Sheeple will point fingers at Bush for the failure of Fannie and Freddie ...

Obama was #2 on the list of politicians who received campaign donations from Fannie and Freddie over a period of 9 years. ...

Did you watch the video and hear Barny Frank and the rest of the Democrats 4 years ago saying everything was fine ...

I'm sure most Obama supporters just brushed this off so they could get on with the Dream.

As for Liberal and Conservative I'm neither.

I tend to be a fiscal Conservative and a social Liberal. I've voted equally democratic and republican in my life and I've been voting since I was of legal age.

MrLabGuy,
One could insert McCain in lieu of Obama, in almost every point above, (maybe adjusting some of the particulars...),
but I see the "cult" from most of my "better dead than Dem" gang of ~100 guys here at our cult-like Country Club, .
I don't think you are in that anyone but Obama club, but it's hard to tell by your plethora of posts that are so pro Rep.

Seriously, one could make a full time fookin job out of pulling "quotes", voting records, media myths and truths, who
said what, who means what, and on, ad nauseum, to throw up here. But, what is the freakin point?

From your many posts and previous points, I doubt you are neither Lib or Con, but that's jes'my opin; but, that is
exactly what I was getting at when you went off on your Who's to blame for Fannie & Freddie soliloquy that initiated
this thread...and, was my reason for responding to your Libs equal "Sheeple" post. Labels are easy to hand out, esp
on a written, non-face to face board...vis a vis, as the French term suggests. I get my share of news from a lot of
sources, (trying to see both/all sides), but the snippets tossed up here of late, by many, are like re-runs of the
glaring attention getting crap on most of the 24/7 talking heads "news"

Sometimes I think I'm reading the capsules of the 3rd string at Fox, here...

My view has been pounded into the table, but I reiterate: most politicos, while maybe "nice" people, aren't worth hiring
to polish my motorcycles, or watch out for my or, most of the country's interests. They are somehow transformed, about
2 weeks after they get elected, into partisan bs, pork barrel jive, constant fund raising and almost immediately start the
re-election process and that "work", as opposed to real legislative work.

I have little regard for most of those elected to anything...I do sense a subtle but real, "Obama is worthless and scary"
type of campaign here on this board, as it mirrors what I hear from the rich whitebread I frequent as friends. I react to
that, I admit, but not from a sense of 'Bama's my man; it just feels like Rovian bullshit all over again...neither of the
potential Prezs would be my picks.

I am worn out by the "this side is idiots and my side is pretty good to great", debate that goes on, on this board
and others.

You can choose to post all you want. I will choose to occasionally toss aerosol cans, maybe a diff. point of view, and
of course, mouth off like the rest of us, . I sincerely think neither guy, nor party, can undo what has been done for
decades, nor fix what needs to be fixed.

We can gum it to death and type and paste until our fingers bleed, but we will get what we get and it has,
unfortunately become what we deserve.

You're right you did say that and I misread your post.

More than anything that mistake lead to the trouble we are in today. That and Democrats pushing for everyone to own a house regardless of ability to pay is the overwhelming reason we are in the position we are in today.

I'm still for less regulation when possible. Some regulation acts as a safeguard so you can't throw out all the rules. Next step the government should increase penalties for CEO's who endanger investors and break the laws.

So in a recap...Democrats blocked regulation of Fannie and Freddie which lead to the need for a Wall Street bailout and serious harm to our financial institutions.

What a coward, throwing insults under the anonymity of a screen name and avatar.

By the mere use of the word proves that you are the one that is a "Sherson."

Motor...McCain is a politician and I don't worship him or anything he says. I can think of 100 candidates I truly feel would be better as President than McCain but we only have two choices this election.

Our system is controlled by the parties and the system does not allow the best to rise to the top. Until we as a people figure that out we are stuck with the garbage they feed us every 4 years.

That said the main reason I'm voting for McCain is the House and Senate. Obama as President will support most everything that comes out of Nancy Pelosi's House and Harry Reid's Senate.

Do you really want Nancy Pelosi pushing her agenda up to a President who WILL sign on?

I think that is about as reasonable a reason as any. I don't trust the power of the government especially one with a blank check and no balances.

Even when you apologize (after a manner) you go partisan on us. Look in the mirror. The problem we have is partisan politics, and you are promoting it.

And how come you never responded to my post on what does and doesn't qualify as debating, even when Quick asked if you were going to?

IMO, at least MLB tries to have supporting arguments for his opinion.
