I agree. My wife was born in Zambia (well, Northern Rhodesia at the time) but she is definitely not originally from Zambia...

It's interesting, to me anyway, that Obama was at the same school in Indonesia (I think at the same time) as her two sisters who there for a year or two. I'll have to ask them if they remember him or possibly Barry Soertoro (which is his name if the latest rumors are to be believed )...

So you think he lied to me ?
I think our usage of the word "originally from" differs by region. He meant it as that was where he was born/raised, and that was the way I understood it.
