What little league is this anyway? USSSA has no problems moving kids up or teams from AA to AAA. When our boys played AA 9u, there were quite a few teams that had pitching at 40mph or faster... our team had 3 boys. Now they're AAA 10u.
The whole thing is very discouraging and parents need to chill. And I agree with ylwjacket too... let the kid play with 10 year olds instead of 9 if they are that concerned.

My son has played at least one year up his whole life. In sports where he has shown better than average ability, he has been either on all-star teams (baseball) or select clubs (soccer). That allows him to play with a higher level group, that also continues to challenge him to play better. Everyone wins.
