One of the best reason for me to get this hatch is for my surfboards. I usually carry 3 or 5 sticks at a time. It all depends on what the water in the NE give me. The other reason is, it's a BMW.
If I want to carry anything I have the monster Ram to carry things.

I had a Hach Back and loved it, Americans seem to pick style over reason.

not soon. I agree that it would be great, but the ecomentalists will inevitably find some problem with it. I'd really like a 2-door hatch.

It is definately the way to go if you are hauling large items on a regular basis (like surfboards) and still want good fuel economy. Otherwise, I see no benefit. With regard to the suitcase thing, I would put all of my stuff in two small suitcases that fit in the trunk of a 135i coupe instead of one big suitcase.
It is funny how everyone complains that BMW are getting too big, then when BMW makes a smaller car the same people complain that they cant haul a ton of stuff in the little trunk. ![]() |

that coupe is cool looking and im sure offers all the benefits and quality of BMW. It's definitely unique in its own world, thus making it a conversation starter among other cars out there. Coupes are too common, so I'd take the hatch for practical reasons and to be different.

The coupe gets the same mpg as a 5, why get one?

Do you mean a 5 series? If so, the 135i is $15k cheaper and is a totally different car for a different type of person. If you want a sportier feel, better handling, and are interested in a car that you can autocross or track the 135i is your car. If you are more interested in comfort, luxury and hauling more people, then the 5 is your car. MPG is not the only factor in deciding which car to buy. |

My point is that it should get better mpg, not the same as the 5 series. |

The 135i is lighter, but it could be geared differently than the 535i. I am not positive, but it may have more performance/acceleration oriented gearing and the 535i may be geared better for cruising. |
