Gov. Arnold has signed the first step legislation to have a north-south bullet train in California. Lots of opposition, though, from the usual sources.

Interesting snippet on the usual suspects/national news last night,
showing the "costs" of a few flights, eg a short flight and a coast to
coast flight. They listed revenue, costs, (fuel costs as a line item),
and both flights lost money...not big money, but a "loss".

The fuel costs were enormous as a % of the cost...(I don't want
to quote misrememberd details.)

Few bizs can keep going for long with those kinds of losses, and
beyond the Marketing 101 Myth, things cannot be "made up"
"volume". Tough road ahead for these kinds of businesses.
