CYPRESS, Calif. - Violence broke out at the gas pumps in Orange County. Police say a La Palma doctor waiting in line to buy gas at the Costco warehouse store in Cypress grabbed a tire iron and confronted a motorist who cut into the line.

Sgt. Tom Bruce said the doctor was arrested and booked for investigation of brandishing a deadly weapon in a rude, angry or threatening manner, a misdemeanor.

Witnesses told police the doctor was in line at the pumps Monday evening when another vehicle cut in front of him. When the doctor confronted the motorist with a tire iron, the other driver locked himself in his car and called police.

doctors are people too. the gas prices are high enough to frustrate your average driver.then add to that the fact that he was waiting in line in a hot california day, then someone else cut him off..shoot i'd be pissed too. maybe, he also had other factors that lead to his thuggish behavior.

according to the doctor, he went up to the cutter to tell him that he shouldn't cut in front of people who have been waiting in line and the cutter rolled down his window and grabbed him by the collar, told him to f-off, and threatened to kill him if he didn't go back to his car. that's when he went for his tire iron. they showed the doctor on television and he didn't seem the type to just get violent...pretty mild mannered.....i think the cutter is just a punk that got his bluff called and b*tched out. in all honesty, if the doctor was really violent, that crowbar would have already been through that window.

Based on that information, I can't say I blame the guy. There are too many bullies in this world who push law abiding respectful people around knowing that most people won't fight back. The cutter needs a beating but unfortunately the doc is now in trouble. There's no way around that.

We've all been there, where someone cuts in front of us in line, takes a parking spot that we waited for, whatever. We've all wanted to go medieval on them but don't because we know that there will be negative consequences that will far outweigh the moment of satisfaction after decking the jerk.

It sucks that jerks and bullies can have their way. We need Charles Bronson!

i agree, that punk definitely needs a good ass whooping. it'll only be a matter of time before the he does that to someone who isn't so nice, then we'll see how quickly he can call 911 when his arms are broken. but sometimes you also have to pick your battles, which i'm sure the doctor, in hindsight, would agree with. had he let the punk go on his merry way, the doc probably would have only been delayed 10 minutes, he wouldn't have been threatened, wouldn't have grabbed his crowbar, we wouldn't even be hearing about this on the news, and he wouldn't be charged with a misdemeanor. then again, it's easy to see the more amicable thing to do when you're not involved.

....someone who will pull a glock to his head....you never know what kind of people are out there.

Seen this story on my late night news. The doctor seems mellow at work. ahah! The witness says the doc was in the wrong.
I wish my Costco sold gas. I have several friends that use the Costco and they always have lines.
