Americans fear gas rationing...
Shocker the dumb populace understands nothing about the current market. There isn't a shortage of fuel, it is just expensive. Goes to show they really have learned nothing in mass as to why they are paying so much. These are the same people chanting "government help me".

Ryan, If the increase in oil prices is due to the supply demand relationship doesn't that mean that yes we do a "shortage of fuel"? Blue |

Not sure I "fear" rationing, but it's a reasonable concern from some
of the stuff I've read, based on refinery operating capacities... Operable Capacity, March '08 17,594 (bbls per day) Operating 17,222 Idle 372 That March monthly snap shot hasn't changed much over the past several months. http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/pe..._dcu_nus_m.htm No company has built a new refinery in decades, the rules and hoops to jump through are draconian, and no one wants one in their "backyard".

I think he means that the price bubble is artificial.
OTHER than the fact that the "dumb populace" listens to idiots on CNBC who say the only thing to invest in is Oil. THATS The supply on demand in play here. ![]() |

At this rate of demand and limited production it seems that all you need is few refineries to go off line and you could have a real shortage and need for rationing? Last edited by x54.4blue : 06-11-2008 at 09:55 AM. |
