Every time a government entity attempts a "raid" on a "compound" it always ends badly and not in favor of the government. Case in point, the Poly-Kids...$7M to remove them, then find it was illegal to do so, then return them. Wonderful. Anyone remember Waco? Another great move. They haven't got a compound raid right since Manson.

No fan of most bureacracies and I don't recall the last "gov't" operation,
project, or undertaking that was a-successful, b-didn't cost 5X the orig.
cost proj. c-didn't piss off most of the populace it was trying to "help"
or that were affected by the change(s) done by the genius planners/deciders.
Or, some combo of the above...

If most of the gov't, esp at the Fed level, took a month off, I'm not sure many of us
would notice or, care.

Eric, my points weren't intended to be funny...
I am at a loss to come up with a "gov't @ work" program,
that really works, in budget, on time, and actually improves
the life of the people, (or creatures), that the program affects...

Slightly facetious, but not much. I have very little regard for
"what" govt "does", esp. at the Fed level. When one realizes
that the bureaucracies are really the enforcer tentacles of our
'genius lawmakers', it becomes almost self-parody and one would
have to search hard to find a happy citizen/customer, after the
"Feds" have come and gone.

That's because the goal of government programs these days is not to actually accomplish anything, but to milk the taxpayer for as much as possible, while passing the proceeds onto the large corporations/contractors who finance the political campaigns of those who voted for these programs. If a program were actually to accomplish its intended goal, then it would be finished and would no longer need to be funded.

If you've ever known anyone who works in government, rule #1 is to always use up your budget, because if you don't, your next year's budget will be cut. So basically, spend as much money as possible, and if possible, ask for even more.
