Exclamation DTV 2009 question

As most of you know of DTV transition in Feb 2009. Question I am being asked by some freinds:
Will there be letter box TV viewing experience with cable/satellite TV on 4:3 older TVs? That is you only get full screen on 16:9 TVs?

Glad I don't have any 4:3 TVs in use.

I think that the box would do the same thing our cable box did for our 16x9 on standard def, and just letterbox it. IDK for sure, thats just my educated guess...
