I want to take classes; I dont have a friend with a beat up manual to try it out on, so I want to go somewhere to do this. Any tips?

No idea...check the web. Hard to believe you don't have
a friend with a manual trans.

If you were closer, I could teach you in my Vette or, my
X5, in a fookin weekend. And, when you learned to drive
it here in the mtns, the flats of NJ would be cake.

You could not hurt either of my cars, espc. the Vette...
Good Luck on learning to drive a manual trans; not as
hard as you might think. In a few months it will be 2nd
nature.

It's funny you should bring this up. I was just talking about it today. I was thinking about calling a driving school to see if they had manual transmissions so I could learn...Group buy

It pisses me off I can't drive stick. I KNOW when to shift, I can hear it. I guess I just tried to learn too late. I find myself concentrating so hard on what my feet are doing that I lose the general concept of driving in the process.

Hey Junkers..did you see this http://www.x5world.com/x5world-x3wor...31-2008-a.html

TJ, I applaud your desire to learn how to drive a stick. It's not that hard. I taught my wife and if she can learn how to drive a stick, anyone can. I convinced her to buy a new car with a manual tranny and taught her in the 2 days before she took delivery. Her old car was already sold so she had no choice.

Laura, I figure I could teach you in about 3 hours based on my experience teaching the hardest student in the world, my wife!

I look at this as a safety issue. What if God forbid you find yourself in an emergency situation where you need to drive a manual transmission vehicle?

I took my DMV driving test driving in a car with a stick at 16. It was great burning rubber and catching second gear in my young and stupid days.

Same here. I purposely didn't learn when I was younger so that I wouldn't get stuck driving the crappy old 'Yota. Now that I want to learn, we don't have any manuals. I feel like such a dumbass that I can't drive one.

We should learn on Sunday morning after the meet!! LOL Hey Justin -- is your Honda a manual???
