If you had included "none of the above"
You would have witnessed the real sentiment
regarding how people feel round these parts.

My preference was "None of the above" but I still made myself vote.

It's interesting that
1. so few people voted (is there so little interest???)
2. the poll was closed when Obama took the lead

I will vote for the Green Party candidate. There is no reason not to vote. There are plenty of candidates you can vote for if you don't like the Democrat or Republican candidates. You just have to read about them and find one who you like. Just because your candidate does not win does not mean your vote is wasted anymore than being a fan of a last place sports team is a waste. Get off the bandwagon and vote your conscience.

The closing date was chosen when the poll was set-up.

Eric,

It nice to have you back, however voting for a non contender is still a wasted vote, no matter how green or red the candidate may be.

I say we vote for someone from this board to be Prez. Like Wagner, or mD. They probably have more common sense than all the politicians combined.

I'm honored to even be mentioned as a compatriot to MD!!!

For some reason I think the libbys wouldn't enjoy that too much Funny thing, on the radio today a bunch of Republicans said the presidency needed a business person who was disassociated from politics and had proved their worth in the private working sector.

It has nothing to do with common sense. It has to do with a system that encourages corruption. If you were to fire everyone in Washington tomorrow, hold new elections, and put an entire new government in place with not a single employee who is a holdover from the old government, it would only be a matter of time before things were back to the way they are now. Perhaps it would take 10 or 20 years, but that is the system we have....it encourages corruption. The only "common sense" needed to be in Washington is the common sense to know how to raise large amounts of money from big industry and get elected. Otherwise, you can have all the common sense in the world, but you won't get elected to office. Don't you find it interesting how so many ex-politicians seem so much smarter now that they are no longer in office? Or how people who seem so brilliant get elected, and fail to do any of the things that they talked about before they got elected? It's the system, not the individuals. It requires politicians to compromise themselves and their values and ideals in order to get elected. Until we change that, it is rediculous to think that there will be any significant change in this country.
