Did we just equate being a homosexual to a US past history of Slavery? While I'm avidly against the whole "we owe black americans" something because of attrocities before I was born, I don't believe homosexuals were ever forced to be slaves, pick cotton, work plantations, be beat with whips or sold outright...I might have missed something.....

IMO, homosexual quest for equal rights under law is similar more so to women's rights issues of the 50s-70s.

Newsflash...Evolution is natures way of coping and diversifying an organism to better survive in its surroundings. Unless you feel gay men are going to "evolve" to the point where they can conceive a child. Otherwise the evolution of the human species toward homosexuality is a dead end.

More like an aberration or mutation on the natural side which happens quite often.

The whole position of this thread was gay couples getting equal legal rights as straight couples. I don't think anyone could argue that they shouldn't. They are people, duh, and under our government...we are all equal in the eyes of the law. Your own personal beliefs, persuasions...misconceptions haha....are your own and should not get in the way of the law. Ahh, that was my own little tangent.
