Just another stop light dragster from the folks at MB.

MB just shoves huge 6+ liter engines in their heavy cars. Not too tricky.

Can't compete with the M3 in the twisties. M3 higer revving engine, 300 pounds lighter and MANUAL trans.

Bone jarring ride. The suspension is really tight on these cars and there is no alternative suspension setting like there is on the regular C-class models or the M3. Ton of torque, though. Like I said, it is an expensive stop light burner.

You would be better off with the 335i and the Dinan engine flash as a daily driver. Much more comfortable ride, way better gas mileage, costs less, a littlel slower 0-60, but similar handeling.

It isn't just another AMG product. This is supposedly their breakthrough model, like the RS4 was to Audi. The M3 has beaten it in the bulk of comparos, but I do distinctly remember one comparison test calling the C63 AMG the best. It can actually handle. I think I'll have to try it on.

I don't mean to bash this thing, but as you can probably tell I am not fond of really anthing Mercedes.

The steering feel is supposed to be better than past AMG efforts, but the M3 is more agile and responsive due to its 300 pound lighter curb weight, which is a huge difference. The AMG also has much more understeer than the M3 and the ride in the AMG is known to be very harsh and uncomfortable on less than perfect roads. It's handling is also compromised over bumps and imperfections due to the suspension, whereas the M3 handles it much better. The big thing is that it is not even offered with a manual gearbox. The people who buys these cars will have two different personalities and desires. I happen to fall on the BMW side.

This may be a step in the right direction and may beat the M3 in a few acceleration catagories due to the huge 6+ liter engine, but it can't best the M3 as a more complete driving experience.

Whistle

Actually, different cars for different people....some people just like pure torque and going fast straight and driving an automatic...C63 or ISF is for them....

But if you want a car built like a race car and enjoy driving involvement in a balanced car, the new M3 is it....

I tend to agree that MB builds luxury sleds with monster engines, they do not provide the same driving experience that Porsche and BMW have provided for many years...MB has always been comfort 1st and performance 2nd (suspension and brakes come 1st because without those hp is meaningless) except for the SLR but that car is not intended for your average idiot with little driving skill. I attended a BMW Club meeting last Thursday in Bala Cynwyd (just outside Philly) and BMW M Brand Manager Larry Koch was there to tell us about the new M3...all I have to say is that since its debut I was not really impressed but when Larry showed us the technology and engineering that went into the new M3 I was blown away! If you want a luxury ride MB builds a great product if you want to cherish the experience of getting from point A to B then get a BMW, Porsche or F car...nuff said.

It seems you can't post anything Mercedes or AMG and expect something positive being said on this board.
