Hey, Blue...it's my old, yes 5 yr old lil'Canon S50: it was my first
dip into a digicam, though I've been shooting for 50 years. It's carryable, works ok, has a great CCD, imo and does very well close in and in the snap shot to 50 ft range. Hellsbells, many of my early "Mtn scenes" were done with the cam. Yes, I would like a newer/"better" pocket job, and my cheapazz Konica-Minolta 5D DSLR, (now Sony), is just ok, but I had a couple of decent lenses from my old Minolta 7xi film cam, so that's the way I went. I'm on fixed income, though some of you think I'm loaded, lol! |

MD,
What you say make sense, your photos are great you have great life and you don't always need the latest and the greatest. Its just that the only real camera (other than point and shoot) I had was an old Canon 35MM. I never could justify the cost and the size of the new Digital SLR cameras however with the passage of time cost and technology has improved. Now that I took the plunge I am actually taking better photos and having fun with it. It would seem that yours photograph skills are much better than mine and you would really enjoy the using a new Digital SLR. Bill

Blue/Bill,
Yes, I look at all the new cams with envy and lust...both the newer Canon point & shoot and the DSLRs. I have not overcome the rationale part yet. Thanks for the props; not a pro, but have been looking through viewfinders since I was about 9. That, and 4 years worth of photo classes back in the U to build up the ol' GPA way back then. BR,mD |
