I don't realy care how good BMW makes their automatics. It'll always lack the involvement and fun of a manual. Plus, shifting yourself eliminates all the problems associated with ATs and their various programming issues.

For a car like a 911 I would want a stick.

It would clearly not be my daily drive like my X5.

You should be prepared to order a new BMW if you plan to buy anything with a manual transmission. And you should be prepared to travel far if you're looking for a manual CPO BMW.

So then how many of you have a 6-speed X5??





I wonder what percentage of X5's are 6-speed. Anyone know??

The manual tranny was only available in the 3.0i....and I couldn't do that small engine. *not trying to dis anyone on the board* it just doesn't have enough juice under the hood for me.....Phil

I have a 5 Spd X5, though I do have 6 Spd Envy.

Jes' did a cursory GOOG search: couple obscure links showed

And, a related link, using 2006 "registration data", (which maybe
pretty suspect "across" Europe as an entity, said manual trans
cars represent almost the opposite: 80% are mannytrannies.
