Setting Absolute NAV Volume
If you have tried adjusting the NAV volume by going to the Menu, Settings, NAV
Volume, and it still isn't loud enough, Try this:

I had the same problem in my 2002. The nav plays through the phone
input on the stereo. you can set the phone volume from within the radio

make sure you have good satellite signal - go to the "Settings" screen
and press and hold the "Menu" button until you get into diagnostic
mode. Then select GPS / GPS Status and see a screen similar to this one:
