Memorial Day Weekend Recommendations

I am in New Jersey and want to go Friday to Sunday to a national park of some sort. Just want to stay there for a night or two, watch the area, take a scenic drive or some trailing... I was look at the New York Region. Do you guys have any recommendations? I just want to be able to get to the destination in one day. Thanks!

If you want to get out of NJ/NY area, try PA, VT or NH, they all have nice national parks. Might be a little late to be planning this though.
