airbag light

Hi Guys,
just had a weird problem where my airbag light comes on when turning car on and radio and steering wheel controls dont work. has only happened today. was ok during the day, but just happen again. the other real wierd thing is if i open sunvisor miror and activate light the airbag light goes off and everything works!
any thoughts would be appreciated

Hmm, try a search on the board. This issue has been pulled up before I think.

I had that but as I posted before I don't know exactly what they did to fix it. I know they replaced the ignition switch, but I had also asked them fix an occasional starting problem where the engine would just click or on rare occasions continue the starting turnover sequence forever without firing up.

But anyway don't let your dealer get away with not fixing it - it is definitely fixable. Mine hasn't had a problem since.

Does anybody know if the airbag light affects the airbag deploying during a crash? Or does it need to be decoded or something?

If the light is on the AB are not working according to all I have read.
