Has anyone contacted BMW North America before?

I need to speak to them regarding a warranty service issue that isn't getting resolved by my dealer because of an impass. Need to get a final say from BMW North America.

I think that this is the number/e-mail
(800) 831-1117/CustomerRelations@bmwusa.com

From what I've seen, sometimes they will try and blow you off with the "independantly owner dealership ....." - and in some cases (lesser extent)have intervened and helped.

Worth a shot none the less.

Is Herb Chambers the dealership that you are having problems with ?

Yes, Herb Chambers is giving me problems. I called the above number and logged a complaint. The phone rep basically didn't give me a satisfactory response. I'm trying to confirm that my vehicle had been inspected by a BMW dealership prior to the sale. The previous owner installed an aftermarket subwoofer wire into the wiring harness and service techs at Herb Chambers believe that voids warranty and prevents them from fully diagnosing the battery drain/vehicle sleep mode problem. Basically, I'm being held responsible for the cost of removing the wire so that they can diagnose the problem further.

that was found in a thread somewhere - it isn't valid anymore - or she isn't there anymore i should say. Believe the thread was cluster pixel issue. The email address does eventually get to someone though.. I got a response from bmwna - actually it was logged, i had to call in and then I was told it was in the system. No one actually replied to email.

Why don't you just pull out the sub and wire from harness and go to another dealership - maybe BMW Peabody?

Thanks all. I actually emailed Leonora, but got a call back from her colleague at BMW North America and she opened up a case for me. I also got in touch with a different dealer BMW Gallery in Norwood who offered to at least look at the vehicle to see if they can determine if it is a warranty part causing the power drain. As they kindly reminded me, if it does turn out to be the subwoofer wire, then I'd be responsible for it's removal outside of the warranty...and that was always understood, but they explained in a perfectly civil manner, rather than the threatening and accusatory tone Herb Chambers employed.

The previous owner took the sub out before they traded it in. The subwire is underneath the door panels or carpet and wired/tapped in somewhere to the main power. I'm still not certain that this is the actual problem, but I have no issue with taking it completely out of the car. My only concern is if it is soldered in rather than simple wire taps. That goes beyond my capabilities.
