Can Someone Help Please (CD Port Issues)

I recently bought a GROM BMW Aux input device, There are many on the market. This device connects to your 3Pin 6PIN CD changer harness. I have noticed that sometimes now when I leave the radio on when shutting off the car, my CD port is not recognized when I re-start the car which means I can't play my zune through the factory system. I had the same problem when I had bought a BMW MP3 CD changer, sometimes my CD port wouldn't be reconginzed on start up. When using other devices like an Aux input interface, Do you always have to turn off the radio to have the system run down through a shut down loop? When the CD port was not reconginzed, I truned off the radio, turned off the car, and on re-start it still not recognized. This happens intermittently....totally weird. I have a 2001 X5 with the BMW navigation system. Anyone know if I need to disconnect something so that the system goes through a normal shut down. When they installed the Aux Input, they didn't disconnect the battery... not sure if that would have helped or not since this is simply a plug and play device which connects to the CD port.

Anyone else experience the same thing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
