Help getting my radio out :/
Hey guys, I've been searching for a while but no one seems to have my problem, I can't get the volume knob off. I've tryed pulling and prying it but I'm worried that I'll damage it if I go any further. Am I doing anything wrong? Skipping something maybe? It's an '01 3.0 non-dsp radio/business CD

I see a lot of people selling "Bortmonitor" which seems to just be the nav deck/screen and nothing else. if I get this will I be able to run my stereo normally without all the other gps stuffs? I just want the equalizer + screen capabilities + DSP.

I see thanks for that. I suppose it would be worthwhile to make a carputer from just the regular business CD.

You can retrofit nav to get there. It's a worthwhile project that really updates the interior of the car. (Not to mention it updates function as well.)

Another question for you Brian.. or anyone else who may be reading this. If I had just the screen unit; could I retrofit a carputer using the stock nav screen as the screen for the project? This may be a bit strange but I was just looking into carputers and it's hard to find an LCD that fits the stock dimensions well enough.

Yes, but you will still need something to run the OBC functions. Plus, you will need the "Bord Monitor" radio module to handle audio. If you do not have DSP, then you could probably use just a carputer and drive everything. You would need a standard amp or aftermarket amp for audio. You could always keep your MID and hide it in an alternate location to do the OBC functions.
