Question Am I missing something here?? (Entire City of Richmond not in the Nav System?)

I got up mad early on Saturday to drive out to this place in Richmond, CA, that sells rocks (building a pond that day in the backyard) and I didn't bother printing out driving directions, or bringing a map, b/c "My new 2006 X5 has DVD navigation!" Little did I know that evidently, the entire city of Richmond, CA, with a population of more than 100,000 people, is (or at least appears to be ) absent from the Nav Data on the DVD....

Since it doesn't allow you to enter the city first, on its own, I enter Richmond, and when I get pretty close to the last few letters, it recognizes it, and shows me Richmond, VA along with numerous other "Richmonds" without the Richmond, CA to which I was currently en route. The rockery had driving directions on their phone message, so I was able to get there okay, but I was suprised to find a large city in a densely populated area completely missing (or so it seems) so I thought I'd post about it to see what's what.

Am I missing something? THANKS for your help.

PS: It also happened the other day when I wanted to go somewhere on El Camino Real, a very long, well known street lined with stores, that stretches through much of northern CA) and all the Nav system offered was El Camino Del Mar (which isn't the same, since this street is many miles from coast...and not the same one) Does this happen a lot?

Try inputting the state or zip code first. I've had to do that once or twice to get in the zone where my city was located....
