Dice Silverline iPod Integration

Tom,

Do I have to have play lists to listen to my music? I would prefer to not have play lists and just browse my entire catalog to find what I want to listen to. Also is it ready for vehicles with 16X9 Navigation yet? I would like to order today if possible. I would like to be able to put my iPod/iPhone in the console of the vehicle, any ideas on installing the cabling in the console would be appreciated.

Regards, Jason

Having not been very happy with the original Dice sound and functions (I think the Ice-Link may sound better) does this new one do the following:

Not have the long boot up and have to wait to set after INIT?
Sound any better?
Give you full UI control from Ipod?
Avoid the whole battery reset and sparking cables to reset electrical system?

Having just got the 160gb Ipod Classic do I have to upgrade to this Dice to support ? (note: haven't tried yet just saw no UI from Idod)

You are able to browse by Album & Artists as well as Playlists, any song can be reached by the steering wheel controls - iPhone works as well as other iPods.

The trunk interface kit will allow 15 feet of cable length, plenty to reach the center console:

DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X5 00-06 (Trunk Interface)

We have plenty of kits in stock, ready for same-day shipping.

By comparison, The DICE actually has a better sound processor than the ice>Link Plus, this was one of the main focus points when the 1st DICE kit was released.

The SILVERLINE does not allow for Clickwheel control unless placed in Simple iPod mode - in which all DICE-specific features are lost. Even with a 160GB iPod, you can access any song by Playlist, Artist or Album with your steering wheel controls in a matter of seconds.

Does the original Dice support the Clickwheel control one 160gb, because I put the old 60 gb in and it does fine but when I put the 160gb Classic in it does not?

The touch, new Classic and 3rd Generation nano lock the iPod's Clickwheel when attached to 3rd party devices, this is an iPod-specific issue - not the DICE. The Clickwheel will lock with the previous and SILVERLINE

Earlier iPods do not experience this issue. All DICE-specific features are still available. If Clickwheel operation is desired, you can set the DICE module's DIP switches to Simple iPod mode to gain access of the Clickwheel, but will lose text display on the radio when doing so.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello. I have an 05 X5 with NAV, DSP. I am looking for an ipod solution to replace my factory CD changer. Does the Silverline work with DSP?

Thanks, i'd be interested.

i was considering getting the alpine cha -s634 to fill in the changer spot. Would the silverline be able to toggle between the changer and ipod?
